Removing ecological risk from planning and delivery

Landas Environmental provides planning grade ecological advice that reduces risk, supports confident decision-making, and enables development to proceed with clarity. Our structured workflows and technology-enabled delivery model improve consistency, quality control and reporting efficiency.

Trusted by developers, planning consultants, engineers and public bodies across Ireland, we deliver proportionate, defensible assessments aligned with real-world project timelines.
Structured ecological support across the full project lifecycle
Our focus is simple: identify ecological risk early, integrate proportionate mitigation into design, and deliver defensible outcomes that stand up to scrutiny.
Ecological Reporting
We provide planning grade ecological reporting, from early stage constraints and opportunities assessments and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) through to Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) and biodiversity chapters.
Our outputs are structured to support clear decision making and reduce iteration through the planning process.
Biodiversity Net Gain
We apply recognised biodiversity metrics, including the Statutory Metric, Home Performance Index and no net loss principles to assess post-development outcomes. Our approach is structured, pragmatic and aligned with a project's requirements.
Our team includes full members of CIEEM, combining strong technical expertise with technology-enabled delivery.
Our structured workflows and technology enabled delivery model improve consistency, quality control and reporting efficiency. This approach improves accuracy, consistency and efficiency, supporting clear communication and robust outcomes across the project lifecycle.
Habitat & Species Surveys
We deliver targeted habitat and species surveys, including habitat classification, hedgerow and invasive species surveys, and protected species surveys (bats, birds, badgers, otters and more).
Survey inputs are aligned with project requirements, informing proportionate assessment and mitigation.
Ecological Site Supervision & Management
We provide onsite ecological supervision and management throughout construction and delivery. Services include Ecological Clerk of Works, method statements, toolbox talks and Construction Ecological Management Plans. We also offer Biodiversity Management Plans to ensure compliance and effective implementation of mitigation measures.
Appropriate Assessment
We deliver Appropriate Assessment (AA) services in line with the Habitats Directive and Irish planning requirements. From Screening to Natura Impact Statements (NIS), our approach is proportionate, evidence led and aligned with planning authority expectations, ensuring clear, defensible outcomes.

Experience across regulated and development led sectors
Our experience spans multiple sectors, each with distinct planning and ecological constraints. We tailor our approach to align with sector-specific risks, timelines and delivery requirements.
